After completing her degree in sustainability with a business major, Johanna engaged with companies to understand the barriers they experienced in their transition to sustainability.

This research, combined with her own experience as a sustainability consultant, revealed a critical gap: traditional sustainability management tools were either too complex for smaller organisations or too rigid for the dynamic nature of sustainability work.
